8 POINTS TO A PRECISE FIT

Q. Do I need custom-fit golf clubs if I don't swing the same each time I hit the ball? Q.  How do I decide which type of club to purchase?
A.  This is probably the most widespread misunderstanding among golfers.  the truth is that every golfer has the same basic elements in all of their shots.  Most of us either hook or slice the ball with some degree of consistency.  After going through a club-fitting session, both the best players and the average players are astounded to see the change that can be produced by hitting clubs with different designs. The design of your club, to a large degree, determines the flight of your golf shots.  The Professional Staff at Mike Rawitser Golf Shop are Certified Club-Fitters and can help you determine the best clubs for you. A.  The best general rule in purchasing clubs is to "try before you buy."  Every manufacturer would like you to believe that their club is the perfect fit for your game.  However, the simple truth is that each player has a unique need in a golf club.  The fact that a player is male or female, or that a player is tall or short does not determine that the player needs a long or short club, or a flat or upright lie.  Each of us swing the club differently and we all need a piece of equipment that rewards our swing and allows us to maintain an athletic balance in our game.
Q. What effect will custom fit golf clubs have on my game?
A.   Your golf club should reward your best and most natural swing.  In order to hit a golf ball to the target with an ill-fitted club, you have to train yourself to make compensations for the club.  This action creates inconsistency and frustration.  The best situation: All of your clubs will reward your swing without compensation by hitting the ball towards the target.
